What is SHINE?
This is a ministry for real people. This is a place for you to be whoever you are in the moment, perfect or not.
SHINE is here for you to share your stories; help each other understand and deal with current and past issues; inspire those around you; nurture through encouragement; and educate yourself, not only on God's direction in your life, but how to succeed in every area of your life so you can SHINE for Him.
SHINE realizes that there is a constant battle with temptation and sin in our world and our lives. We need to be reminded of the ongoing need for the presence of God and the power of His Word to keep us safe and spiritually sane. He is waiting for us to confess our faults and embrace the forgiveness and cleansing that He readily offers.
SHINE is built on the realization that many churches and ministries give a “perfectionistic” view and expectation of members. Many Christians cannot find victory over the struggles in their lives because they have been conditioned for so long to hide the imperfections in their life for fear of judgement and condemnation. SHINE does not excuse sin, but rather is built on the foundation of James 5:16 where Christians are instructed to, “confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed.”
It is the belief of SHINE that we are hiding so much of our sin that we are throwing away the ability to be healed and find true victory. Our challenge to you is to be real so that you can have victory in your life; victory over your past, your failures, your flaws, and anything else that is keeping you from reaching your potential as a person and as a child of God.
